Commercial Risk Consultants, Inc. (CRC) was established in 1979 as an independent risk management consulting firm. The firm's goal is to provide unbiased technical assistance in a difficult and often expensive area of an organization's operation. CRC is located in Hampton, Virginia. CRC and its primary staff are licensed as insurance consultants
by Virginia's Bureau of Insurance, and in certain other states as required by
law. The firm neither sells insurance, nor accepts commissions or fees from
insurers, agents, brokers, or third party administrators. Income is solely
derived from fees paid by clients. Staff John W. Newby is the firm's principal
consultant and president. He has over 25 years of insurance and risk
management experience and has obtained the following professional
designations: Chartered
Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Certified
Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Continuing Education Commercial
Risk Consultants, Inc. understands the need for its staff to be continuously
educated about the evolving fields of risk management and insurance. Whenever
possible, annual conferences of the Society of Risk Management Consultants (SRMC) and the Risk and Insurance
Management Society (RIMS) are attended by CRC's staff. The
SRMC is a highly respected international organization of independent risk
management consultants. RIMS is
composed of organizational risk management professionals. These national
conferences are excellent sources of education about risk management ideas
being practiced throughout the United States. The firm subscribes to national risk management publications and maintains subscriptions with monthly updates of laws, rules, and regulations that affect insurance coverage, employee benefits programs, and general risk management decision making. Fee Structure Fees are based upon the size and scope of work involved. Billing can be either done by the hour, through a flat fee for a defined project, or by monthly retainer. |
